February 4, 2021 The British Hemp Company launches new branding

The British Hemp company run by Stephen Glover has launched a new website, with branding and packaging from AMD.

The British Hemp Company is the brainchild of MD Steve Glover, who set up the multiple award winning Severn Project in Bristol to provide education training and employment for socially excluded individuals through the commercial production of salads and herbs.

An accidental farmer, he quickly learned how to grow salad and herbs, and the business grew. Twelve years later, he applied for an industrial hemp license from the Home Office, and the Severn Project soon diversified into hemp juice. However, without the right team around him, his plans stalled. Undeterred, and with a few valuable lessons under his belt, Steve used his knowledge of all things hemp to set up a consultancy, working with UK hemp farmers. This experience helped create a vision that led to the formation of The British Hemp Company…

Kim Harvey’s lifelong ambition to own a bookshop became a reality when she took over the ownership of The Madhatter Bookshop in Burford. Cotswold Challenge Launched

When lockdown happened at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, Allison Murray Design joined forces with four other Cotswold philanthropic professionals to challenge the creativity of local Cotswold students missing out on GCSEs and A-Levels. We found sponsors, funding and judges for three Awards: Innovation, Creative Writing and Art and Design to launch The Cotswold Challenge. This became an inspirational and innovative competition for 16-19 year olds.

By the time the competition closed on 1st June we had received more than 500 entries. I have now worked alongside Bulldog Website Design to create The Cotswold Challenge Showcase an online exhibition of the winners and commended students work.

Business person of the year

I am very proud to have won business person of the year at the FLB awards recently. The Judges felt that Allison epitomised what was great about both living and creating a successful business in this corner of the Cotswolds, bringing her extensive experience of working for top London design agencies to help local entrepreneurs create dynamic and meaningful brands.  Many of those identities you see every day have been designed and implemented by Allison; Made By Bob, Thyme at Southrop, Butler Sherborn, Lynwood & Co and Fairford!  Her business is all word of mouth recommendations and she also works to encourage young people into the industry through the school career circuit. The judges were extremely impressed with the scale of her business and Allison’s ethos. Nice words.
